Sharon called it a zipper. It's something that she wanted to do that seemed to have a personal significance to her but I didn't ask.
The goal was to photograph the process of auto-inserting the needles and this is a pic of the final result.
We did this in a downtown tattoo parlour in the presence of an experienced professional piercer, Mr. Tony Touch, with appropriate hygiene and first aid supplies at hand.
Afterwards Tony did the second piercing we photographed that evening.
